Hi all! Anyone been to the track today? Just curious what condition it is in with the recent weather?
If there was any chance of the meeting being cancelled due to the weather, lightning etc is there any way some sort of post on oople could be made in the in the morning? It is a 165 mile round trip and dont really want to get there just to turn around and come home

Been working on the track all day today, we've had a couple of showers but on the whole it's been bright and sunny. I can now confirm although it's very late - we have a burger van for tomorrow. According to BBC weather, we are going to have much the same weather as we had today.
The track is dry - just don't wear your best white trainers, because our dirt for some unknown reason has a nasty habbit of staining them red.

On a more serious note, how soggy is the pitting area?
The Transit has a nasty habit of sinking up to it's diff at the mere mention of wet grass!

Grass tracks in the UK can sometimes mean a flat piece of grass with no features, rather like a touring car track, seeing pics of a feature-laden grass track is a welcome change.

The question about the condition of the pitting area was serious though. The Transit is notorious for sinking up to it's axles at the first sign of a puddle. Dropping the tyre pressures from 65psi to 25psi usually helps, but the drive home is always "interesting".

Just had a plug lead manage to wrap itself around the steering uj and yank the dist cap off. Fixed the other damage but it snapped the rotor arm so it ain't gonna be getting me there tomorrow morning.

Sorry yes I did miss it! - I've heard that comment from the Americans before - it just didn't register!
Transit shouldn't be a problem - believe me I know how bad they are - I drive one on and off grass sites every day. You get our one near wet leaves and it gets stuck! Under the turf, our track has about 20 foot of sand before you hit bedrock - even when it does rain, within half an hour it's all soaked away. - You'll be fine.
