Default New track work!!

Bury members,
We the committee thank you for your patience regarding how little information we have given out regarding the new track, however I'm glad to announce that work on the new track will commence Monday the 10th of feb and will be completed (structurally at least, with maybe a few small jobs to finish off after) in 5 days.
Keep your eye on the Bury Metro RCC Facebook page to see day by day photos of the work.
Exciting times for bury metro ahead!
Gav

It's a team of guys who build bmx pump tracks for a living which are usually much bigger than rc tracks.. So he knows more about the time scale than us.

Originally yes but there's a chance there will be two sections that may be smooth concrete dependant on new astro being sourced. If we're struggling to get the astro we'll leave these two sections smooth concrete

The concrete sounds better to me, a bit of variation.

Just remember, concrete was one of the old track down side as tyre wear was bad so please keep in mind.

Just sent the same message to gav, the track got a bad name cause of the embanked corner, suggested something like kids playground rubber stuff they put on the floor or even grass

The banked corner at old bury was a high speed corner these areas will not be. So tyre wear should be low. Worst comes to worse, we just wack astro down. Plus people are forgetting we have the highest grip astro around which works even with worn tyres..... 2 bends is not going to make much difference

So long as it's not on a fast corner it shouldn't cause too much wear. The banking on the old track was a long fast S bend, so you were giving the tyres a particularly hard time.

Basically the left side is old bury but instead of block paving use smooth concrete
But to clarify this is a PLAN B if we struggle to source the extra astro needed to make up for the difference in height of the track.
Plan A is all astro

Sorry Steve but You'll have to wait a week and see it when it's completed :-) as just by even mentioning concrete before, EVERYONE has an opinion. You can't please everyone so I'll decline putting the design on here. Anyway it would spoil the surprise

And also for the people fretting about concrete..... It seems we've found the supplier that provided the current astro :-)

Ok, is there any extra drainage being put in? The way the weather's been this year we might be better with boats if not.
