Default Are these Lazer towers?

Hi folks!

Here's a picture of a Kyosho Slingshot slightly modified to a "Hongkong style buggy". The car/picture is not mine but I have a question about the shock towers which are the same front/rear. What car are they from?

If the copyright owner of the photo doesn't like that I'm linking to it. Please send me a PM.

Thanks!

I'm trying to "image google" but can't find any other car having this. Where they option towers? Also checked Fibrelyte and they don't seem to have any front tower with this shape.

I really like their look and would like to source a sample.

The answer is both yes and no.
The prototype Lazer, called the Legend at the time, used at the 89 worlds used this front shock tower design but in carbon fibre. They were never put into production and sold by Kyosho.

Several replicas were made by other companies though, in the UK we had the Petes Awesome Products version in fibreglass. I would guess the alloy ones might have been made by GPM as they were making a lot of alloy parts for the Kyosho buggies at the time, but the edges look too sharp for GPM and the finish would be brighter.

Oh..

So those might be copies of the "Holy Grail" in the Lazer shock tower universe. Maybe I should stop looking then

If anyone has a better picture of those I might try to make a replica.

Thank you Terry for some great info about them!

Found a photo of the Lazer Legend towers that I will try to use as a guideline when crafting replicas. I'm aware that these might actually be replicas but the front tower looks very much like what I'm looking for.

The best I have so far

That photo sounds familiar .
I still got the PDF scan of these towers on my hard drive, so if someone need it just send me a PM with the mail address.

Bye

My intention is to actually use the towers on a Slingshot. Like the first post. They will look something like this (based on the PDF scan and redesigned).
