Will give you the short version as is It easy all depends if your handy doing this sort of stuff

First degrease item
Scotch item
Prime
Wet flat
Top coat
Then you need water in a dipping tank heated to about 27c
Lay film on water
Spray activator on film (wait about a minute before spraying)
Dip item on a angle through film
Rinse clean
Clear coat

Are there any companies that will make films to your design?

This is great work and something I've been looking at trying on clear shells for a while now. From the steps you've described earlier, did you have to perform the same for the bodyshells? ie. scuff the surface, primer etc.? Also I assume you managed to get this onto the inside of the shells?

Any advice specific to how you did your shells would be great as I may take the plunge and try this out myself

When dipping shells you are doing the hole proses in reverse first clean the shell inside then dip it first then apply the base cos colour u need then I us all give it a backing coat in white don't forget though you cannot use automotive paint on rc shells in has to be polycarbonate paint
