Default ORB Racing - 3D Printing Upgrades!

For some time now I've been making upgrades, mods and prototypes using 3D printing. The process offers on-demand production, the durability keeps exceeding expectations, and with regular inquiries from fellow racers it's time to kick it up a notch.

So hereby I'd like to announce ORB Racing, the supplier of 3D Printing Upgrades for Racing and Vintage Racing The flexibility of 3D printing allows solutions on offer that are not feasible or cost-efficient with conventional production methods.

All parts are printed with SLS printing in white nylon, are a bolt-on fit and parts can be dyed or painted in any desired colour by the customer. Because the nature of the products, they are all manufactured on-demand (on order).

I had Paul make some front c-hubs for the Bmax2-MR in different caster angles. Since Yokomo only offers +5.

Now I also have them in +2,5 and 0 deg for more exit steering in corners

Thanks Paul !

Thanks Arjan! I'm glad to see the parts bolted on as if they were factory components and are performing as expected. The parts will be available as soon as they've done some more mileage. The standard angle will be 0 degrees, though the angle can be adjusted to customer specifications (such as 2.5 degrees). Here are some more pictures of the parts:

These parts however were not the only ones to undergo testing yesterday at the MIO indoor carpet venue. The wing mount for the TLR22-4 was also fitted and tested:

Like the C-hubs, the wing mount has performed well yesterday and after some more testing will be available too.

As you're 3D Printing, the caster blocks, why don't you just mould the angle onto them?

Hehe that's a good plan indeed I looked over that while making the model for these, the current parts I offer have the angles printed on them if applicable.

Edit: @alex97 - Yes, B5M wing mounts with screw mountings instead of clip mountings. First of all, it takes out the slop that you have with the standard wing and mount. Moreover, no clips can shoot off, so your wing won't come off unless you do so on the pit table. Of course you can also use thicker wings without a tight fit of the clips, and last but not least, the cap on the top of the wing offers good support to the wing that the solution from the kit is missing.

I'd be interested in the Bmax2-MR hubs when released. Any estimation on the costs?

Ok, time for updates! First of all, operations are slowly and steadily expanding:

I wouldn't have dreamed of so many 3D printed yummy goodies sitting on my desk

Also, Koen and I are trying slowly but surely introduce some parts stock. I can't keep on updating the state of our stock, but at the moment we have:
- Associated B5M imperial wheel conversion (white).
- Associated B5M wing mounts (black).
- Yokomo BMAX2 Mid-motor wing mounts (black).
- Durango DEX210 Sidepod Body mounts (white).
- TLR 22/22 2.0 wing mounts (white).
- TLR 22-4 wing mounts (white).
- Yokomo BMAX2MR C-hubs 0-degree (black).
- Yokomo BMAX2MR C-hubs 2.5-degree (black).

Lastly, with the Yokomo C-hubs and TLR wing mounts available, the attention has turned to another expansion of the product line. This time it is for the vintage fans: The J-parts tree of the Tamiya Top Force (and other DF01 chassis cars with a FRP/CF chassis conversion):

First of all the availability of the parts will be a big plus - but at the same time some updates were also implemented to make the parts stronger and the car easier to work on. The prototype set is in production right now, if everything goes as planned, the set will be available halfway January 2015.

Update time! Here we go:
- The Top Force/DF01 J-Parts are now available.

- B5/B5M +2.5 Degree Caster Inserts: Cars nowadays are refined enough to notice small setup changes - this insert offers finer tuning of the caster on your car!

- B5M Chassis Brace (Motor) with adjustable battery plate height: For when you run UnderLiPos in the car and don't want unnecessary tension in the chassis!

Default Parts for HB D413

Difficult to source anywhere. You'd make a killing on these.

At HB's pricing I'd even be able to offer competitive prices

By the way, as so to not spam the forum, you'll find I only update this topic once in a while. For more updates you may like to check out ORB Racing's facebook page (LINK).

Hi, how about some rear caster blocks for the bmax2/yz2 with an extra degree of toe? That should be a hot seller as the only current option is alloy blue ones at nigh on 40 quid.

Do you still offer your rear suspension mounts for the Dyna Storm that were previously available through Shapeways?
