Anthony,

It's still 6 rounds yet - Southport will run on the rescheduled date.

If we do continue cancelling meetings and can't get them rescheduled, the qualifying is from "half plus one rounded down." That means 4 from 6; 3 from 5; 3 from 4.

There is a rule in the handbook that states if a round is cancelled and re-scheduled on a new date, then the number of rounds to count are reduced by one. Hence it is currently 3 out of 6 rounds to count due to the fact that Southport has been re-scheduled.

I can see some sense in this, since I may not be able to make the re-scheduled southport date.

Maybe for next year there could be a reserve date(s) set out at the end of the season for a cancelled round which may give more notice for people to make re-arrangements to attend? I think the mid west region already do this.

But what I mean is even if they are rescheduled we still lose a round to count towards final score. As what happened with southport, it has been rearranged but now it's only 3 of 6 to count, just worried about the damage it would do to the series should it happen again. Unless I have the wrong end of the stick...

I understand what you mean now Antony,
We are now at 3 to count from 6 actual (3 from 5 technically).
If NNRC was cancelled we would still be at 3 from 6 actual (3 from 4 technically.
If another date was cancelled we would revert to 2 from 6 actual (2 from 3 technically)

Just to confirm - in saying we still have 6 actual meetings I assume any cancelled events get rescheduled and still happen.

Ed that was about as straight forward as spaghetti......
As I see it if NNRC was to be cancelled it would then be 2 from 6 if NNRC was rescheduled. Ideally this will not be cancelled but if it is I don't see the point of rescheduling it as 2 from 6 is pointless

Gav,

I expressed it like that to avoid people making the mistake you're making!

If NNRC is cancelled there will be 4 remaining scheduled events. The rule is half the number of events to count, plus 1. That makes 3 from 4.

So if NNRC is cancelled the events you can score from reduces from 5 to 4, but you still count your best 3. If a further event was cancelled there would only be 3 scheduled events, hence your best 2 to count. But for all those people who can and want to do all 6 (including the rescheduled) they would count their best 2 scores from the 6.

I hope that's clear. (Anyway, I like spaghetti!!!)

I understand what your saying now I think ed. It's not that one round to count is dropped as such. It's just the rounds to count is recalculated off the number of remaining rounds

Im sure all the normal astro tyres will work fine. There will be a draft heat listing up later I will of course put up a link to it but please remember it will be subject to change.

But srcc is still going ahead which makes it 6 with only 3 to count, and if NNRC was cancelled I presume that would be re scheduled... So like I said it would then be 2 from a potential 6 which is rubbish

Now there is a strong chance it will not be re scheduled due to the host clubs calender. If any other event is called off I will of course try and get the host club a regional but given the amount of dates left at the clubs and with national dates ect I would not get my hopes up.

No Gavin. You don't reduce your number of scores by one each time a meeting is cancelled. You reduce the number of meetings from which your best scores are taken. If NNRC is cancelled and/or rescheduled and the remaining 4 continue as planned you can count 3 from those scheduled 4 meetings. That is BRCA regs.

The confusing bit is that the Region has the discretion to reschedule cancelled meetings (we have done that already) in which case anyone doing those meetings gets those scores added to their "pot." So anyone just doing the 4 scheduled meetings would count their best 3 scores from those 4. Anyone doing all 6 meeting still only counts 3, but their best 3 from all the 6 they attended.

I'll go over it with you on Sunday if I'm not explaining it well enough.
