Upgrades for the B44.1
Hey Guys,
I'm looking to buy a B44.1 and was wondering what upgrades people are using? e.g. roll bars, RPM arms, shells, weight etc.. would be handy for me to know what you're all using Many thanks Tommy |

Most people tend to run:
AE ballast weight between the cells FT alloy shock tower braces are nice front and rear but not essential Ceramic diff balls Roll bars are a good option, most tend to run them on the rear for most surfaces and front bar on for high traction Its very comptitive out of the box tbh |

Yep, agree with Mark,
Literally the only things that are typical additions are the ballast weight and roll bars. ..and that is just for UK style tracks...pretty sure for clay/dirt it'd be fine! Car doesn't 'essentially' need anything else. Pretty much race ready straight out of the box! I'm even beginning to doubt the wisdom of ceramic balls...although they do build nice smooth diff's initially, and probably are a better diff to begin with, and the balls themselves probably last ok, they wear the plates out much faster because they are a much harder material...although the plates are cheaper, it does mean the diff's last a shorter time so your rebuilding more often! I plan on testing this theory over the coming year

Interesting theory blue. Out of interest, for someone who's yet to rebuild his first diff, how do you know when it's ready for a rebuild?

It will feel rough when you turn it not smooth. I normally give my diffs a check/clean after every 4/5 meetings.

I run -
no AE weights no FT shock tower things no roll bars. I do have ceramic ball diffs. Last time they (or the car tbh) were checked was at last years oOple race, but it doesn't get used too much either - maybe 2 club meets a month. I do have roll bars, but found them too much indoors. Still use them outdoors, though.
