Default Reparing Shells help?

Hey guys,

Is anyone here good at reparing body shells or know someone who is?, ive recently bought a body shell which is quite old and rare, you havent been able to buy them for years.

Unfortunatly the rear is alot worse than i was lead to believe and needs some work reparing splits, cracks missing bits of plastic! And ideally covering exsisting body mounts and remaking them where i need them!

Its a 1/10th onroad car which I will be using to show rather than use, i just dont think my reparing skills would be up to par for this.

I can send some pictures if anyone is a bit of an expert and would take on the task for a price

Thanks, Jake

Hi Jake,
Are you talking about an 'abs' style plastic shell, or lexan? I dont think you can 'fix' lexan, other than with tape, even glass reinforced tape...

If its the abs, plastic shell then I'd say get yourself booked onto the tamiya club forum (www.tamiyaclub.com), there are loads of modellers and restorers of vintage shells, they might be able to help...
