Default I have the same problem

yes i have the same problem ,for nitro fuel protection ,i have tried other products that say they are fuel proof ! .but Nitro is another animal,I found Plasticote not fuel proof as i have left fuel sitting on it to find it made the paint soft ,i have tried spectra same problem.i know other painters are not backing the shells any more that are intended for nitro so the customers are shoe gooing the whole shell inside which is a pain for them ,i know proper 2K laq works but its a lot of hassle for someone who paints a few shells in the shed as its full of nasties ,so if anyone has any other suggestions please share them

I use Fastrax spa silver rattle cans, works fine with Byrons 25% and seem ok with most fuels, as I say fine with Byrons, but test on a spare bit of lexan for other fuels.

The product is not discontinued it's just the name, it's been rebranded under the Valspar brand name now, they just dropped the plastikote extension. It's the same stuff.

I get it from B&Q.

Does Halfords normal clear not protect against nitro ?

I've recently started to use - Plastidip which seems good but not tested it with nitro.

Plastidip is a removable coating. Covered a gas tank in it on my chop and it doesn't like petrol.

I switched from plastikote to halfords universal lacquer as it is only down the road and find it works well. Goes on more even also.
