Looking good! Can't wait to see it with pretty, cut edges and holes.

It's funny - carbon chassis with foam sandwiches, molded kickups, and other advanced stuff were so normal in the 80's but not anymore. Great job doing things more complicated than a prefab, flat carbon cutout!

Erik, you totally forgot honeycomb and balsawood.
The -80ees was an very nice period to have rc as an hobby.
-90 was good too but -80 was fun.

I made a tub chassis for a Schumacher k1. it had a 1mm foam core and I managed to get the weight down to 60 gram's.

i'm surprised more people dont mould their own carbon chassis, i've done 7 tubs and a few flats now, and it isnt difficult to get a reasonable finish. my 2wd tub for this year came out really well, its more time consuming making the plug for the bodyshell than making the chassis mould!!

It is easy making your own carbon parts, I'll hopefully be making a carbon tub 2wd for this outdoor season when I get the time.

Looking good so far mate.

First I saw a B4 front end, now I see a B5 front end. Are you telling me they share the same hole locations to mount the parts?

Oh and before I forget... Really cool that you're doing this from scratch by yourself! Please let us now how it handles on the track!

The 2 holes that are near the servo those are not in the same place. Diffrent like 2mm.
the 4 screw from the bottom are in the same place.
next weekend we have an big race were this car will do the debut.
it is an 12year old pretty good skilled driver who will see this car for the first time in the race morning.
And this is his first 2wd car race ever.
i dont even know will this chassis work or not.
If you want to see how the car goes on the track i have an site in the facebook called JERZIN VIDEOT.

Hi.
In the first race outdoor it took an easy win. It was an clubrace.
14.6 we have in Finland the first national race where all the master drivers are. After that race I can tell more.
2 of my chassis will be there and I hope for good resaults.
