Default 501x Gearing

Hi guys,

I've got a 501x - standard kit spur - Nosram 6.5 brushless - IB42's

Do you think the kit pinion (17t) is going to be too much for a general size off road track over 5mins? If so, then what size are we looking at? 12-13??

Thanks

Hi, I used a 21t pinion on my car with a 6.5 it worked out to be the exact ratio that novak say to use in their manual,I use a 17t at the moment on a novak 5.5 never had any probs on either one and it never gets too hot, so should be fine.

lrp/nosram head honcho (jurgen) says a 6.5 should be run on approx ratio of 12:1 so in a big pulley 501x that equates to 16t/96t
or small pulley = 18t/96t

hope this helps
