Default Emergency Spare Parts for the TRF501X Wich parts will fit

Hi everyone,

You are today the only one, who has a TRF501X on the track and not a second car ordered as spare ?

I just wanna start a new helpful threat. Cause my local dealer wasnt able to deliver me a new rear A-Arm, a friend of mine find out that a Asso B4 Arm will also do the job. It fits perfect in geometry, just enlarge the holes to 3mm for the inner spur. The outer will have a little to wide but its ok.
So every 2WD driver becomes a friend of mine, cause the car is so popular and spares will find on every race weekend .

a pic will follow

Please add other parts that might help you during race events, or even makes the car better to adjust.

Another note: Use the Losi springs with the upper Losi spring plates to use your old ones and have more space between damper body and spring.

Im excited which parts will also fit. There must be a reason why the car looks like parts of others.....

May sound an obvious one, but a B4 spur gear will fir providing the pads you use are the correct B4 associated parts.

To be honest as most 501 owners will state, spares are a problem, however when buying from hong kong etc, they are readily available and get to you in around 6 days. Prices are also cheaper.

Col.

I lost one of the steel balls used for the inner hinge pins last night whilst rebuilding the car. Pretty gutted because I have no spare and I guess it would be a hard item to find. I used one of the alloy INTERNALLY threaded balls with a hex at the bottom that tamiya sell. The size of the ball AND hex is pretty much bang on the same size as the standard steel ball and plastic washer.

I just drilled out the threads inside the ball and it's a perfect fit - and lighter too! Shame I only had red ones to use

I think the B4 spur is smaller...and I don't think you can get a large (96t??) B4 spur like the one used on the TRF.

I'm sure this spares issue will all get better with time though.

What I wanna know is why Colevan's part bags were labelled and mine (and Jimmy's based on the review) weren't!

Also, anyone know what weight the kit shock oil is?

The b4 spur is the one as prefered by the team drivers, as for the spare parts issue, I think that you will find that there will be very soon a UK shop stocking the spares.

If Jimmy says I'm allowed to post the link I will.

right link time to our new 501X parts supplier

http://www.brockmodels.com/

Speaking to Neil yesterday, the parts are still a week or two away from arrival but he has had confirmation of the order and dispatch.

He does keep in stock most of the generic TRF/TA05 drivetrain parts (diff pulleys etc etc).
