Yeah Col, the event you saw, I only managed 2 arms ;-)

I think my mates car bumper took the brunt of it, then it hit the ground. Good job it's a company car. To be fair, the bumper mark will t-cut out. Ford bumpers are pretty bendy.

Lesson learned. Leave naza manual mode well alone, even with endpoints at 50% and 40% expo.

Yup think you are right.
It just went very bad, very quickly. Far too quick to switch modes.

I've killed a sunnysky V2216-11 900KV II motor. Does anyone have a spare I can replace with one on the slow boat please?

Hi Neal.

Sorry to hear / see the devastation in your bump. Very unlucky to find hard ground in a field...

I don't have a spare 2216 - but you are welcome to borrow a set of 4 2212 980kv's if you want (the smaller ones).

I was pondering flicking into manual mode on my 550 just to see what happens - may not bother now.

Thanks Andy, i may take you up in that offer.

The motor has failed when its come detached from the arm. i had cable tied the wires to the frame, the outer red/blue wires have come loose as its moved, but the centre black wire has stayed tied, so pulled out of the motor. On investigation its sheered at the base of the coils where its mostly insulated with glue/resin, and broken where the wires are exposed slightly before they are soldered to the silicone wire. It can't be fixed without un-bonding the coils from the base, and won't go back together well enough to trust afterwards.

hmm, I'd stay well clear of manual.

I'll get the kk2 F330 flyer sorted for kicks, keep the TBS for video and fpv when I get the gear.

Hows your naza now Andy? sorted? how have you got in with you dabble with fpv?

I got the Naza swopped - so far so good - although not really had chance to fly it, but I ran 3 packs through it and it never crashed

Got my 5.8Ghz Video link all set up (only on the bench) and got a super cheap monitor from Banggood so I can see what the GoPro is shooting. Not using it for fpv - just for framing video / shots.

Also got a GoPro Black from amazon on Black Friday Lightning sale for - £229.99 - well chuffed with that

Tarot 650 in the post - going to set the Tarot Quad up with the Tarot Gimbal and run the Zenmuse on the 550.

Col.

I did it as cheaply as possible
Figured if it does what I want - which is monitor the GoPro output at closeish range then job done.

I bought:

Boscam 5.8Ghz 200mw FPV Wireless AV Tx & Rx Set 1 US$54.99 IN STOCK
5.8 GHz Circular Polarized Antenna RP-SMA (Set) 1 US$11.67 IN STOCK
Turnigy 9XR Transmitter Stand 1 US$5.35 IN STOCK
Turnigy 9XR FPV Monitor Mounting Arm 1 US$7.05 IN STOCK

All from HobbyKing.

Then I bought a crazy cheap monitor from monitor from Banggood.
Quite a few to choose from and the site seems to be down at the mo so i can't link to the one I got. Also bought the Tarot Cable for the GoPro to feed it into the 5.8TX.

Fantastic Andy. I reckon you need to mount some props on that wheelie chair base you have.

In other news, by replacement sunnysky motors arrived from china today. Just a shame this wind is so high right now.

I've been modifying my H quad to try and shave off some weight, I didn't realize how heavy the plastic was when I was building it at first.

It's looking much better now with the mods and new paint job, just need the weather to clear up so I can fly the thing.
