Default Moving to Italy

Hi all,
I am in the USAF and just got notification of an assignment to Aviano. I will spend a year in Korea before moving to Italy in Aug 2010. Do you know of any tracks in the Aviano area? I prefer 1/10 or 1/8 off road.
Thanks!
Josh

I did a little search and found the following 1/8 off road tracks:

- Sarone di Caneva
Distance: 15 Km from Aviano
Web Site: www.kanaeteam.it
Video of the track: http://dailymotion.virgilio.it/tag/A...lpe-adria_auto

- Sacile
Distance: 15 Km from Aviano
Web Site: not found
Video of the track: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=dTJ8Jwydl18

- Cimavilla
Distance: 40 Km from Aviano
Web Site: www.clubmodellismocimavilla.com
Video of the track: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ORsJBHM8-Zk

Hope that helps !!!

Bye
Emanuele

Emanuel,
Thank you so much for your help Those tracks look fun and I'm glad to hear there is a few tracks close to Aviano. Is there some 1/10 EP tracks in the area too?
Thanks Again ,
Josh

mmmmm ....
Unfortunately in Italy the 1/10 Ep scene is not wide as the 1/8 nitro one (both on and off road).

This because many RC drivers think that the Ep buggy are only toys .

However now things are changing because a lot of nitro user realize that the ep buggy are fun as the nitro one (thanks to the new 1/8 Ep class ).

1/10 Ep tracks are located far away from Aviano:

Collegno (in Tourin)
http://www.oople.com/rc/photos/euros2008/

Vinovo (near tourin)

Assago (in Milan)

Varallo Pombia (near Novara)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vBd2d1wqEzo

Scandicci (near Florence)

Hope the next one is near my location !!

Bye
Emanuele
P.S. The Italian "oOple" forum is www.automodelli.it/forum (if you post in english someone will reply .. ) and for the 1/8 Nitro http://www.modellismorc.net/ !!!

Emanuele,
Thanks again for your help Some of the tracks are not too far to drive to. Looks like my three years in Italy will be a lot of fun for me. Now I need to study Italian.
Thank You!!!
Josh

Almost there! 2 weeks left in Korea, 3 weeks of vacation in Japan, and 2 long flights before I arrive in Italy. I have been looking at some places to live when I get there and I am really thinking Sacile is my number one choice. All the photos I have seen it is a beautiful city (the wife likes that) and looks like there is a track in Sacile (I like that and the wife does not know). What part of the city is the track located? I would love to find a place as close to the track as possible. I have also been thinking Fontanafredda might be a good choice also. Do you have any other suggestions? I would like to stay with-in about 20 min for Aviano AB if possible.

Well couldn`t find a place in Sacile but we found a great house in Cordenons.

So where are the hobby shops in the area?

Hi Josh,
I think that the better place to ask information is directly at the track !

The address of the nearest off-road track (the one in Sacile) is the following:
Strada Ongaresca 7 - 33077 Sacile (PN)

Using google maps it will not be too difficult to get the directions to the track.
From what I can read on the track website there is a race the 31st of october.

You can also try to send an email to the track owner at this address: info@ongaroring.it .

If you want to browse the net for some model shop near Pordenone you can try to search "Negozi Modellismo Pordenone" with google.

By the way, here's a list with a lot (not all) Italian RC tracks
http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?msa=0...,13.974609&z=6

Bye
Ema
P.S. sorry for the delay . I will not check the Italian forum often, so next time feel free to send me a PM .

This for example is the address of the first one:

RastaModel (Rastelli s.a.s)
Strada del Mobile C, 18
Pasiano di Pordenone 33080 (PORDENONE)

Hi,
if you will have a look and race on the Assago track let me know, by email, and I'll give you all the information to race with us. If you wish to buy RC stuff I'll send you some good details.

I'll post the Italian EP 1/10 off road race calendar 2011 as soon as it will available.

see ya.
