Default Front tyres and grip rates on a DEX210

Right, im running on carpet and it is quite grippy. What i'd like to know is the grip rates of tyres, primerily in the Schumacher range.

I used mini pins and they were too grippy. What recomendations do you have....

Also i what tyres (fronts) need inserts and which ones dont?

I would try staggered ribs yellow without inserts, cut your wheels to the slim width. They worked for me on high grip carpet. Some guys run cut staggers with inserts on the full width wheel, but i haven't tried them yet. Both seem to work well. Yellow mini pins on the rear, with sch med inserts.

Same here as raymondkerr, on high grip tracks the staggered works really well.

Hi Dunc,
Good racing last night! I was on cut staggers and I like the way it drives not as much as 'full' pins all round. I found that the staggers tended to push the front a bit too much for me and the cuts give more front end than staggers. Next week, you can have a try if you like? Or you can borrow the tyres and see what you think...

Cheers,

Mark

I like to run cut staggers too, as mentioned above they tend to give the car a bit more front end. But can make the car a touch more edgy and a little less consistent. I generally run cut staggers indoors or on astro as I have run 4WD cars for the best part of 2 years. And like to have front end the normal staggers are good-tad easier to drive.. but I personally prefer cuts. But a lot of it is how the car is setup and your driving style too.

Pins all around for me. I think the fronts work seriously week when worn slightly and just keep on gripping

Hi Mark, yeah was a great bit of nip and tuck racing
I noticed your car had a bit more grip on the front end. I was borrowing Neil Percival's staggered ribs, much better than the mini pins but I would have liked a bit more front end grip. I have some spare wheels and also some cut staggers but didn't have them with me last night. I take it these need an insert and go across the whole wheel unlike the staggered ribs?

Ps, thanks everyone for the comments
