Saddle pack mod pics
Post up your pics of you saddle mods.
Are you guys butting the saddles up to the rear mount as per pic? Or shall I get the saddle back a bit further by cutting down the rear batt brace mount? |

What advantages have you guys found from running the car in saddle pack formation? I've only run mine with a full size stick pack down the middle so far.

Generally the car just feels better with the saddle formation, better over bumps and certainly jumps alot better, you can distribute weight better also, the most noticable thing i found straight off was the extra grip the car generated, that stood out from the first lap
All of us that race together are all running the saddle formation and im pretty sure they would all say the same, you can also run a stubby lipo across that chassis which we tried at the last meeting and again that was also an improvement over length ways

Here is my effort on the saddle mod, strips of heat shrink covered lead weight, total in a T shape of 70g
Bit of dremel action, not too hard to do really: Pics of the batt plate raised up using 2.5 mm shims Finished, will neaten up the wiring a bit once tested: Last edited by MHeadling; 09-03-2013 at 01:21 PM. Reason: Link |

Looking good!
I was considering the same after I'd Dremeled my side pods. I'll defo be putting some spacers in to raise the battery strap up. I'm also gunna try a brass plate under the lipos for weight and to help them sit flat. Will post some pics when done.

I run a 50g brass plate under the lipo's,works perfect for having them sit flat and gives a little extra weight down the middle of car.

Thanks guys
I know Krob is running this layout in his H2 and seems to be pretty rapid with it (B final Off road wars) If you put a strip of sticky lead down the middle as per my pics the lipos sit nice and flat |

And i've just traded in my saddles for newer sticks!
Would you get a similar effect by running stick but adding weights into the side pods? if so, how much weight?

It may not be good with the saddles!
We shall see next week when I give it a test. Ben is running his with a stick pack and been going good from what iv heard. Yes some nice triangle shaped brass weights to go in the side pods would be cool! |

I did try saddle's but couldn't notice any difference. Gone back to sticks and will use normal or shorty packs to adjust the balance. |
