Just a thought Graham, but do they have enough ventilation in there?

Keep an eye on those balance boards! They look like you could very easily rip them off in transport.

As long as you can keep them cool enough thats an ACE! idea

Cheers guys for the feedback , as far as keeping them cool goes , there's approximately 40mm of clearance underneath each charger , they are basically floating , and I've already tried an old laptop style 12v fan under there for size which I've wired up to plug straight into the power board , think I'll just fit it to make certain of cooling !

And yes I'm a little worried about damaging the balance boards , they're screwed through not just stuck on , I might try and make a little tray to cover them with , wrapped in carbon obviously !

Failing that , I'm pretty sure they'll be okay , you don't realise that my OCD spreads to my van too !! Everything in its place & no mess !

Installed the cooling fan earlier and made a padded Velcro strap that covers the balance boards !

All good now me thinks , now must wait til Sunday for the barrage of abuse from the rest of the lads for being so anal !

Looks a tidy job Graham, is there room in the lid where you could have storage for your lipo's, balance cables, spare connectors etc..? Or is it too shallow..

With regards your balance boards, could you not attach a rigid cover to the lid, which exposes the boards when the lid is opened?

It's carbontastic on the inside, any plans for the outside?

Cheers Dazzler,
I like the idea about the built in cover on the lid think I'll try that !

There is a bit of space in the lid , enough for the cables to fit , so I think I'll make a little pouch for them to sit in , my lipo sack lays on top of the chargers to protect them too

As regards the outside , not sure what to do ? The aluminium is textured and is difficult to adhere to ! I might just leave it as is, so that you get a nice carbonised surprise when you open the lid !

Thanks for the comments guys , all helpful

Cheers

Nice job Graham.Ive done the same with my ally case, but i leave all the chargers in there boxes and just get them out to charge. Might have a look at leaving them mounted inside. Just makes everything neat and tidy. I have a pc power supply that is long and thin thats mounted permanently inside the case.
With your balancing ports can you not mount them from the inside so its just the white ports sticking out?

Hi Mick

I'd thought of mounting the balance boards from the inside but there just isn't room , I also considered removing the 2s port from the board and using it separately , but I didn't really fancy that !

Maybe "version 2" I'll use a larger alu case so I've got more space ? I have one lying around in my workshop , this case was the one I carried my charge stuff in anyway that's why I used it !

Just get a bag of 2s extension leads and use the female end sticking out of a small port on the side of the case.

I bought a bag of them to make up my own charger cables.
