I needed a wire between 90-100mm for perfect cable routing and so thought I'd order both just in case. When I matched them up next to one another it was clear someone's ruler is not working so well and they are both way off!

They're both correct. The SP one is 90mm from tip to tip, and the LRP one is 100mm between the plugs. Before ordering something that has a dimension in its specification, be sure that one knows what the dimension is.

A countersunk screw measures its length from the top of the head to the tip of the thread. A button-head screw measures its length from under the head to the tip of the thread. If you put them side-by-side on a ruler as above, they are not the same overall length.

IMHO, there is nothing wrong with either of them. Admittedly neither website tells you how they measure their sensor lead lengths, but there's nothing wrong with their rulers.

No they are not, the SP is 81mm tip to tip and the LRP one is 106mm from plug to plug. That is still a 25mm difference between 90-100mm whichever way you look at it.

I ordered a soft sensor wire from AMC before and that was 100mm spot on so had no reason to expect otherwise.

But don't worry, lesson learned. That's the purpose of this post, so others can benefit from my mistake.

Unless it is me who needs new glasses the SP one is at best 85mm long while the LRP one is minimum 105mm between the plugs. How can both be correct?
Is it just me who is becoming accustomed to working with people who would claim inaccuracy if a measurement isn't correct to 2 decimal places!

Neither. Slow is an engineer, so he'll always measure twice and cut once!! As for the glasses, already have them, which is why I can read a specification and a tape measure!!!

Looks to me the speed passion is 80mm tip to tip doh!! 82mm
