Default PR Racing at BWOC

The PR UK race team attended the British Winter Open Championship (BWOC) this weekend. The whole team enjoyed some fantastic results and proved how competitive this new brand to the UK is.

In 2wd the PRS1v3 performed perfectly, and with some small adjustments early on we were all right on the Pace. Kev Lee managed to Qualify 7th overall and gain a solid A final place in the first major BRCA event since the PR brand has been introduced to the UK.

Paul Upton and Dave Burton had some fantastic qualifying and put their V3 cars into B final against a 130 strong field, and some world class competitors!

The rest of the team also did a great job with John Jones and Neil Saunders making the E final, Phil Williams winning the H Final and Chris Ellis finishing 2nd in the I. Our Youngest Driver, 6 year old Charlie Saunders, also did a cracking job at his first major event with his V3 finishing in the M final.

On Sunday we were all a lot less experienced with the SB401 than we were with the v3, having only run it I couple of times each previously. Paul Upton had the most experience, having recently won the BWOC Warm-Up at Silverstone on its debut, so we all started with something close to his setup.

The 401 felt excellent, and throughout the day we got faster as we made small changes to refine it. Kev went 9th in round 4 with a couple of bobbles, which potentially cost him an A final place. However, it’s an extrememly positive start as we had 3 cars in the B final with Kev Lee lining up 3rd, Paul Upton 7th, and Dave Burton 10th.

Phil Williams also enjoyed a great day running his SB401 for the first time, managing to qualify in the E final.

Watch this space, there’s a lot more to come from the SB401!

Great results for all our drivers and PR cars this weekend so a big well done!
