Default New spektrum receivers compatible with old modules?

Hi all.
Getting ready to start racing again. I've just got a ko universe radio with a spektrum pro module and was wondering if the new range of small receivers work with it?
I was looking at this one
http://www.spektrumrc.com/Products/D...odID=SPMSR2000
But was concerned over the part that says
**Requires a DSM2/DSMR transmitter capable of a 5.5ms frame rate.
Thanks
Matt

I fairly sure not

spectrum modules are 1st generation DSM only (not DSM2/DSMR) so you need the 3500 if you want a micro receiver

You need to find a spectrum receiver that is compatible with DSM, think the new ones are for DSM2 only.

If it is DSM then DSM2/DSMR will not work. I think they had to stop selling DSM and DSM2 due to a change of eec regulations. It has affected me on my flying Spektrum gear too as my flight module is DSM2. I have plenty to get on with but you will need to buy second hand.

You've got the first generation DSM spektrum module in your transmitter and unfortunately spektrum no longer make/support any DSM kit now. They haven't made transmitter modules for a good few years now.

Spektrum have just announced a new wheel transmitter that is backward compatible with every version of their protocol exept DSM, think they are just looking for every one to upgrade.

Anyway if you are looking for a compatible receiver the micro one is a SR3500 or the bigger one is a SR301 you'll be luck to find any because they are no longer supported.

I'm in the same boat when or if my module fails I'll need to upgrade all of my receivers.

The new transmitters are backwards compatible i,e a DSMR tranny will work with an older DSM receiver, but the old transmitters are not forwards compatible.

The DX4R Pro works fine with DSM, DSM2 & DSMR, maybe I should have been more specific, sorry.

You have plenty of choice with Spektrum receivers that will work, you might still find them available new as old stock.

As well as the sr2500 or sm3001 mentioned above, you can also use the SR200, SR300, SR301, SR3000, SR3001 and SR3500.

A wanted ad on here should find some as most people have upgraded their radios. Alternatively they do pop up regularly on ebay.
