Default Futaba 3VCS release date

Does anyone know when the 3vcs was released?

I found a review from 2007, but it included the 2.4ghz system and I was under the impression it originally had crystals?

cheers

The original 3VC had crystals, but I believe the 3VCS came with 2.4

I had a 3VCs on 40mhz back in 2004, as I bought it for my first year of 4wd off road nationals, when I ran a Losi XXX4G+

Not sure on the actual release date.

It was later converted to 2.4 with the Spektrum module.

WOW, 13 years old and still one of the best transmitters around IMHO

I have three of them, myself and two sons, all using the Futaba 2.4 Modules
They’ve never missed a beat and do everything I want and need

I've been using the 3VCS with FASST module for 5 years and love it. With a VXR Racing LiPo with 1000 mAh, you get about 4h of runtime. On the receiver, I removed the antenna wire and use it in the closed radio box of 1/8 buggies without problems.)

only recently did I bin my original 3vc, 16 years isnt bad service from something electronic

it had been all around the UK and europe and done countless hours of racing, love them so much I think I have inadvertently created a little rest home for them as I have a few LOL

all 3vcs now

the fasst modules with the R603FS and a couple of FRsky Fasst receivers, as spares

the wierd thing is that in all them years, and back in the days when I was doing largescale, we all ran 3vc due to the brake mixing and easy of adjusting everything on the fly... Ive never seen a campac module.. LOL

I have an LRP 3600 lipo in mine, the danger is that you just forget to charge it, but in typical lipo fashion, when it drops, it just goes.

thanks for all your replies. I can't remember when I got mine, but it's done me proud. I only replaced it with a Sanwa because the lad wanted to start racing and it gave me the opportunity to go for smaller receivers.

The 3VCS could be used with xtals as there's a little cut out in the module for the tab to stick out. Cheers though.

still using 3vc for club and for messing, use 3vcs for racing. 3vcs came with 40 meg module, went with the plug in frsky module for mine, have spectrum as well, but range is better and less dropouts with frsky. i have campacs in both radio's, home made versions of anyway. search for clonepak, dont know if the details are still out there or not
