Default Could someone please explain

I can`t get my head round the overall heat qualifying results

example

33 Andy Fletcher 14/ 303.28 49 [25 24 (28) (26)] 21.66 19.01

is this supposed to be my best run,14 laps at 303.28 (heat 9 round 2)

sorry if this a dumb question, just trying to figure it out.

Andy

But was that in rounds 3 or 4?

Its round by round qualifying, your two best rounds were the first 2, the time shown was your best one in those two rounds (I think). It ignores your times in the other rounds as they don't count. You might have gone faster, but clearly everyone else was faster still!

The unbracketed numbers are your scoring rounds, the bracketed the discarded ones [25 24 (28) (26)] which means rounds 1 and 2 counted, 3 and 4 didn't. The numbers are your place in that round - meaning that you set the 24th fastest time in round 2.
Even though you set your fastest time in round 3, you were only 28th fastest as lots of people went faster that round, so its actually also your worst round!

Basically look at each round as a seperate competition. In Round 1 the driver with the most laps in the quickest time scores 1 point, the driver with the next best time scores 2 and so on down to last in the round - which was about 45 in 2wd / 4wd yesterday.

This scoring is used for all 4 rounds and your lowest 2 scoring rounds are added together to give you an overall score, in the example in Post 1 is 24th and 25th, totalling 49 points.

The laps and time shown for Andy Fletcher (14/303.28) is the laps and times from the Andy's best points scoring round (24th in Round 2)

If 2 drivers were tied on points after qualifying their single best score is how the drivers are seperated, if the drivers have the same points from their best 2 rounds and the points are achieved the same way then the laps and time from their best round (shown above) is used to seperate the drivers.

Hope this helps????!!!

On a serious note, give me a shout at the next meeting if people are still unsure. I'd be more than happy going through how it works with anyone

Incidentally Roger, when was it announced we were running round by round anyway? I never heard it, just worked it out from the second rounds placings list.
I suspect you did announce it, we just can't hear sh!t up at the VIP* end of the pits. Is there a way to get a speaker up there?

It makes more sense to run Round by Round on an ever changing track.

For example, take the sweeper at the end of thestraight followed by the 180 hairpin. That hairpin by the end of Round 3 was a full 2 foot closer than at the start of the day making that corner faster, it was then replaced to the original position at the start of Round 4 which would result in Round 4 times being slower - based on a clean run of course.

It's always better to run Round By Round if the track can not be 100% consistent.

PS: I'm not knocking the track in any way as I stated in the other thread it was on of the best tracks for all abilities

PPS: Roger loves it really!!
