FS2 - Rear Camber link rubbing on wheel
Is anybody else having this problem? I noticed when I ran as per kit (Plastic hubs, outside hole, 2mm spacer) that the wheels rubbed quite badly under full droop and it was audible when cornering at speed. I adjusted the setup (removed the spacer) to correct but wondered if there was a work around?
I have the same problem with the Alloy hubs rubbing when in the in the #1 position (very outer hole) as well. Because the ball screws in the top, the angled rod ends that are available from various places (Jconcepts, Durango, etc) are not appropriate... Thoughts/comments guys? |

That i svery interesting, how much droop are you running on the back?
I can honestly say that the very wrost I have had is a VERY slight mark when running in the position you state, I often run on the next hole in with 3mm under the outer rear stud without rubbing at all. Can you post up a pic? |

End to end shock length is 98mm
Shock mounted in the middle on the tower and inner on the wishbone. Inner camber link on position #2. |

Just built my FS2, the links look just as close as yours are. Not too much worry really as they'll only rub when landing jumps, should be fine.

I suspect the shock tower mount you are using are originally designed for xz5 SP which are 2mm lower (due to the diffs sitting 2mm higher on SP) giving your car a lot of droop when using same length shocks for the FS.

From the picture it looks like you are using SP gearboks, and not FS. The dif-axels is then higer, and inner ball stud is also to high.

Thanks for all your input.
It's deffo FS2 gearboxes but take onboard the comments re: tower mounts. However, I had the same issue with the kit plastic mounts and the kit camber spacing (2mm washer IIRC). Does anyone know of any angled ball ends which would be suitable, as I'm unable to add any washers under the outside without either binding the wheel up or restricting droop. Will have a look to see how the dremel might be able to help. |
