I know it is a bit late and with no recompense but arranging the lead lengths so that they cannot be plugged into the wrong battery port is the simplest solution and usually possible on most layouts, it also keeps the leads short as well.
Of course some esc's are self protected in the first place, may be worth the future proofing investment? One saving grace, we have ALL done it at some point, if we are honest and for those that haven't, well done or very lucky! |

Yes, I've noticed that some shorty packs come with the terminals the opposite way round too.

The tekin 411p speedo used to have a fuse built in if i remember corretly, used to just put a blob of solder on the two pins if it blow..........would be a great idea to re-introduce for the racer, but not for the manufacturer as they wanna sell more units.

A lot of ESC's have a diode as part of the capacitor pack (or sometimes directly on the ESC board) that will protect them.

I done the same on sunday but it killed a battery rather than the esc.

Another trend now is for the battery connector tubes to be accessible from either side of the battery, now that does require some fool proofing, out with the sticky tape patches there!!!
Good to see all the confessions coming out from you guys, yes it does hurt the pride and usually the pocket too! |

buy cheap buy twice is the old adage !! im happier buying cheap then I don't cry so much when I lose an ESC there all on borrowed time its just a matter of when !!! not if !!
