Unhappy Rear Bearing Busted

So I was replacing a worn Spur Gear on my ZX5 when I noticed my rer wheel moving allot more than usual...

I removed the rear hum and popped the shaft out to find a small ball and what looked initially like grass stuck to it.

On further inspection it became clear that I had a catastrophic failure of the inner bearing of the rear hub carrier:

After some serious effort I managed to get everything out of the rear hub, however... I will need a new rear hub and also... a bearing... might take this opportunity to replace all the bearings... just in case

Hi Jake

Looks like part no La244 from those pictures, set you back about £8 a pair.

Pretty standard 5x10x4mm metric bearings so getting some won't be an issue. Hub bearings take a lot of stick so replace all the rears to be on the safe side, or get a whole new bearings kit which might be cheaper in the long run.

Thanks for the help Brett, I ordered a Complete set of Replacement Bearings from AsiaTees but for now will get a hub replacement bearing set from ApexModels to replace the one rear hub.

Seeing as the chassis is going on 10 years old now I think I have just been lucky in the bearing holding out for this long
