Default News Digest for 2012

Hello All,

Well, I'm glad it's Christmas, looking forward to the break from racing

MAssive learning curve this year with starting the club and we now have a great bunch of hardcore racers and also I think the visitors we've had will be back at stages throughout 2012, the area is certainly 1/10th off road buzzing at the moment.

So what do 2012?, Well......

Our Full Astro Track will be laid in January/February on the same site as before. The track will consist of dips, yumps and bumps as well as huge banked corner and table tops, all built into the ground as features.

Race control will be moving to the narrow corner of the site to allow for more track at its widest part. Also, in the narrow corner will be a special feature 'wall' to either end or start the straight.

We will be running EVERY SUNDAY throughout the year, with a mix of Full Day Meetings and Morning only meetings. During the summer months (May to September) we will run our normal TUESDAY evening meetings with the track open as well on THURSDAY nights for open practice. IN Winter time it is still planned to run indoors at the same venue.

We now have a solid team behind SHRCCC. Darren Parker has come on board to offer some finances for the new track and other facilities and we also have Duncan Hedger, Terry Streeter, James Lucas, Dean Mandeville & Chris Ellis as confirmed for helping and running full meetings next year. I'd like to thank those guys for their time in 2012.

So, we now have a solid club dedicated to 1/10th Off Road on the Surrey / Hampshire borders, it's your club so what would you like to see?

There will be scope to change things around and keep it fresh and flowing.

Are there any drawings or plans we can look at?

Must admit I'm a 'bit' sad to see it all going astro, but I do understand the financial aspect/requirement of it. Looking forward to the outdoor season already!

firstly congrats to all involved , yes the grass track was fun in the summer (dry) but not so fun in the wet !! an astro track with decent fetures will pull in the interest and make the club grow . if there is anything i can do to help then ask .

top job dudders
