Default Touring Car tyre choice?

Can anybody from the modified touring car scene off any advice as to the best tyre choice for the outdoor track please?

Anything from the Sorex slick range appropriate?

Matt,

Thanks for the quick reply, its actually for the Tamiya class, are the 32s well suited to the Outdoor circuit nice and grippy etc? The kit slics are frankly ribbish and those fastrax premounted were only marginally better.

What kind of life span can I expect from them?

What does the RY stand for? I can see R tyres not RY?

Scott

The Y stands for yellow insert.

Scott, keep an eye out on eBay, job lots of 32RY pre mounts come up quite often. The serious racers only use a set for a couple of rounds before retiring them. Their performance drops off but they're still perfectly usable for the Tamiyas.

Hi Scott. The Sorex 32s are a good choice for use with tyre warmers, or on hot summer days,(If we get any!!). Sorex 28R are what i used to use on my TT01 given the choice, because they are a softer compound, and will have more grip in cooler weather, which we're likely to be racing in, in April & May at least.
