Default Motor Temps

All, having a bit of an issue with heat, and struggling to solve it!

Running a 6.5 in my 4wd buggy, and no matter what I do I finish races at 180-190f... I have gone with both larger and smaller and same size pinion as others running the same car (sworkz), I am down to 30% punch on my esc (viper), blinky mode, minimum timing on motor (which is 20 degrees).. I am now running a fan next to the motor also. Drivetrain is free, mesh is ok (It would survive a bit looser but is not tight and has good play)...it still overheats and it is also still monster fast (except top end which is "meh")...

...so, what else can I try? Should a 7.5 run cooler? I assume adding timing always adds temps?

And back in the UK....... 190 f is around 85 centigrade. Which is a perfectly ok, if a little on the warm side, temperature.
If you are that worried, try setting all the settings back to zero and starting again. Upping each setting bit at a time until you are happy.

I thought 200f was the absolute upper limit?

It may well be, but while you aren't exceeding it, I wouldn't worry. (I usually finish a race within 15 degrees of the cut off.)

If it's still a concern, try reducing features to see what has the biggest effect.

TBH, with my 410 the biggest effect was better positioning of the cooling holes in the shell. That was "worth" 30 degrees. By allowing the fan to work properly.

What size track are you running on?
high grip or low?
What motor?
What gearing?
Is it only the motor thats warm?
Are you sure its rolling smooth as one buggered bearing can do a lot
How long are the races? With warm ups?

You might want to cut out the shell a little larger around the steering rack
