Default 1/8 indoors at bury

I don't know about you lot but I think the 1/8 buggys are awesome powerful and great fun. But I don't think they should be used at the indoor venue. The 1/8 cars are going to either rip the floor covering or really hurt someone. Also drivers waiting for the next heat are in danger I must have counted at least 5 buggys come over the table top and jump into the drivers waiting in that area also restricting the view for the racers coming round the bottom carpeted hair pin. I think this area should be no waiting due to the danger. People not racing the current heat should remain in the pit area until the last car has finished

regards

I agree 100%. Also when the race is over all none racers leave that area asap. The number of times I put my car down, got onto the rostrum then couldn't see my car for all the people hanging round that bottom corner, which is pants when you only have like 20 seconds to line up on the grid.

I could not agree more mark. I to had the exact problem at one point someone just stopped himself standing on my car. It just felt like chaos for about 30 secs before each race

I found afew times when i was finishing my race that i was getting hussled on the rostrum from the next heat drivers getting there spot, which was annoying but i do understand that it was quite rushed between heats. Defineatly struggled seeing at times though , i`m not moaning just think Dave has a point

Default 1/8

I don't fancy one of them big 1/8 swine smacking me in the head or anywhere else I'll take my chance with a Durga as I have before but one of those big dogs is going to kill or break you leg what do they weigh? It must be around 4kg that's some psi if it hits you

it was bit of a crush round that point and yes could not always see car when racing because of amount of people in one space, also when racing all it needed was the person next to you to lean slightly forward and you could not see the corner either end of track, just need to remember when next planning track leave a couple of meter in front of rostrum not put track right up to it.or taper track away from rostrum at a slight angle either end keeping full depth in the middle.

My personal opinion is the 1/8th should stick to 1/8th tracks. There are 3 top tracks near Bury, NNRC in Preston, PRCC in Blackpool, and Pdmcc in Nelson. If a track is designed for 1/10th which Bury clearly will be the 8th's are just too big/fast.

So if any of the 1/8th contingent want to race on REAL 8th tracks come over to the above tracks and we promise not to beat you by much.

I was the marshal on the scene when one of the 1/8ths smashed apart the jump just before the straight. Considering how heavy those ramps are (I carried them out of storage) there was a lot of force in that impact. Certainly had me thinking our current level of bystander protection wasn't up to dealing with that sort of mass at that speed.

In truth though the 2 we had were well driven and under decent control. The problem is this - available from the model shop in the Trafford centre for £300 and even less at Modelsport. Thats true RTR - even with lipos making it an exceptionally cheap car. That means potentially we could have complete novices (or worse still me!) driving cars only a little slower and just as heavy as those on Sunday. That is a very worrying concept.

It was that broken ramp that I got caught up in in my final. Now I dislike 8th more than ever .

Sorry - My fault for not fixing it properly!

It needed taping down again but clearly that couldn't be done mid race, and with so little time between heats I did what I could, then had to stop. I should have fixed it between the heats and finals but forgot
