Maybe get the heat listing sorted sat aft (if not before?? as im sure you must have a good idea on numbers maybe thurs/fri?) and publish it on here so people already know when they are on for practice... Im more than happy for you to send me the listing roger, i can then add it up on here.. typed or a pdf or something..?? Is it possible to email the heat listing to me?

Doing this, people will know when they are on and help race control get on with running practice then straight into heats without being mythered.

When the doors open and PA on, get people to register they are at the venue for the day.. So in theory heat 1,2,3 will make a point of registering when they get there ready for practice..

Hopefully if people do this, long before Heat 12 or 13 is finished we will find out who hasnt turned up.. so then reserves can be added and get in a practice before Rd1 Heat 1 starts...

Cheers

Nick

When I got home on Saturday night I had half a dozen e-mails/oople messages..........how are you going to fit them into the right heat when the heats are already done.
On Monday morning I read more mails that had come in after I went to bed Saturday.
I think my way is best.
Re the booking in before practice ????? I still think my way is best.

Where did you get that idea? I didn't get there 'til about nine.
Job for you then, I'll print practice tickets. you get one when you check in and only practice if you have one. Two minutes practice (that means three or four by the time they stop when you tell 'em and get off the rostrum). That should take you, what , 24 minutes ? ..... come on do the math.

Super organisation guys. As a newbie with 'stiff-fat-fingers', Sunday's track was a challenge, but thoroughly enjoyable.

A few suggestions:
1. Have people sign in as they arrive in the foyer - eliminating the long queues later on. Close the book at 09:00 and enter the reserves.
2. Post heat listings etc, a little further away from the rostrum so that people can read them without blocking the narrow space leading to the rostrum.
3. Position one of the loud-speakers by the rostrum so the racers can hear better what is going on.
4. Don't allow pitting beyond the rostrum. On a number of occasions I was blind-sided by people walking in front to see friends on the other side.
5. You did it very well, but keep reiterating the fact that no one should leave the rostrum before the race has finished and that no one from the next race should make a move towards the rostrum until the race has been officially finished.

could we have refs for the races?? sumat like gettin someone from the heat after yours to come up and ref a heat, then you dont have to suply them within the club, just get racers to do it. you could either ask specific ppl, or just say whoever number 3 is will be a ref for the heat before theres

i had a great time sunday, i didnt mind how long the day was because i enjoyed myself! roger and stu are doing a really good job of running the club so a big thankyou to you both, all that needs to be done is for people to do what roger and stuart constantly seemed to be asking, getting out straight after race to marshall, put cars on starting grid,no messing with warm up laps, then smashing across track to get to start in time! we all know what to do so why dont we just do it?

Its nice having the heat list up early but then what you will have is people not turning up till there heat then we dont know if there is room for reserves untill the last minute.
Dad wasnt there till about 9, so I think we did rather well!
Please if anyone else wants to run it then step forward as we will gladly let you have a go?
Also putting trucks first will get them home early but what about the people that are at the end? Bit selfish if you ask me.
What everybody is forgetting is that we are trying our best!
End of!
I dont want anymore negativity as I think we are doing a good job so only possative feed back please.

Regards Worksop, They open doors at 8 and then put the computer on auto and not stop for anyone at all! We on the other hand are not heartless and want everybody to have a good day. They also finish about the same time as we did Sunday. So if we opened earlier then we could also do that?

There is also the thing with cost of the hall, WE at Bury Metro have great prizes to give away. We have given away Kits and now Speedo combo's, Servo's etc. How many other clubs(1/10th) do this?

Remember also, If you win a class at the end of the season you get £100, 2nd gets £50 and 3rd £25. We have 3 classes running at the moment.

We are trying our best. We dont want this to end as we do enjoy it but as this is going too far now we might get peed off.

I also have no 'valid' excuse for not marshalling the final either but can we also note that there were more than just 2 4wd 'A' finalists not marshalling, just take a look at most of the finals.

I have shared my opinions about the day with Roger via e-mail and now with Stu via PM, I had major concerns in relation to the way the 4wd A Final started and the way drivers managed to get into a respectable position by track cutting, I may not have set an example with no marshalling but these drivers need to have a word with themselves also as they didn't set an example either - no names to be mentioned

Refs would be a good idea for the series although it is hard work to manage especially considering there is Roger, Stu and Nick primarily and we know from experience that asking a marshall to do it may not work as well

Constructive Critism - In relation to the track I thought it was one of the better ones with the exception of the white mats to the left hand side, I thought they were far to 'random' and possibly cost me a better qualfying position in both classes, again it's the same for everyone though.

Stu, it wasnt a criticism.. if it was an option i was willing to help

As Roger has said all marshalls will be wearing hi-viz vests.. and i reckon that they should all stay at there point until relieved...?

Cheers

I'm a bit concerned about all this mention of refs, corner cutting in A finals etc. This is supposed to be a CLUB MEET. Yes a big one, yes one with series prizes but jeez guys lighten up - its not a national!

Rog, Stu and the Bury mob (not me this time though) do a sterling job organising this to be a FUN event, and its become big because of the atmosphere and the awesome track, but it is intended to be the winter indoors retreat for the Bury Metro outdoors club, when Goshen is too wet/cold to use (so like in July!).
It isn't meant to be a national so don't expect it to run like one.
