Mamba.

Basically every sensorless motor can be reversed by switching 2 motors wires.

My favorite configuration is a Mamba Max controller and a Tekin 448 sensorless motor.
I ran one successfully in my XXT-CR last season, tried it and liked it in my XXX mid motor conversion and ordered another motor just for it.
In my XX4 I used a Mamba Max controller an a castle creation 4600KV motor - controller works great but motor a bit too strong, so I may get a 448 for it too.
Ran a Novak GTB with 7.5 motor on my XXX-CR last season, performed ok, but a bit too much power and requires very sensetive and accurate throttle work.

I've seen many guys loose a race because of problem with sensor/sensor wires/thermal shutdown with sensored systems and rarely if ever with a sensorless setup.

To be fair, I didn't like the performance of my 7.5 turn sensored motors with my sensorless controllers.

In my opinion, performance wise, it's not so much a quesion of one type of system being better than the other, rather getting a motor that is right for the track and driving style and a controller that fits it.

Reliability wise, sensorless simply has less things that can go wrong.

Avner.

correct me if im wrong:

For the LHD kits, most tx have the throttle reverse feature which essentially means that you do not need an esc that has the rotor reverse feature. No?

This won't change the direction of the motor, the car will drive when you brake

Might actually be an idea for the slim body that would be supplied in the future to have an undertray as well ?

It catches CS, Orion and Speed Passion motors too, small problem there that can easily be solved with mr. Dremel.

So is this now the official Team Losi 2wd ride then?

If looks and engineering are anything to go by then its pretty sweet by all accounts. Seems to perform too...

Ash - interesting blog, congrats.
