b44 shocks on a durga: will they fit?
I'm about to start building my durga.
the kit shocks look a bit.... crap fortunately, the fully assembled spare set I had left over after selling my b44 are still sat in the same box they've been sat in since august. so i'm thinking of whacking them on. I also discovered an unused set of jconcepts rims I had totally forgotten about - bonus! has anyone else tried this? are they an appropriate length? thankyouta. |

dry build the kit shocks, measure them up against each other dude.
JConcepts, if they are BJ4 should, if they are B44, will need the deeper hex.

associated shocks should be fine on it, I seen a few people that run them on their durgas

started building it tonight!
it's been a long time since I last built a tamiya buggy (1992 - super astute). they seem to have really gotten their act together. luckily the slipper clutch and 3 racing titanium screw set arrived this morning. I can't imagine how much of a pain in the ar$e it would have been to try assembly using the kit philips screws... I've got the motor plate in place, and the diffs built. luckily I found tons of tips on diff assembly, and put it together the right way round |

I put associated shocks on mine Craig and they seemed to fit ok, although maybe better with a limiter on the rear as they were a fraction too long.

I have AE FT B4 shocks on mine, no probs, didn't bother with a limiter though, seemed ok as they are.
Much better than the dire items in the kit, they're even worse than the bright yellow ones you used to get.

well I've ordered what i think are the correct (team associated) mounting bushings for the shocks - then it's just a case of fitting them and finding a good baseline setting to work from. I've got plenty of time to put it all together, so I can get everything bang on

the fronts should be fine with no limiters i think but the rears may need 2 or 3 1mm limiters in

Mounting
For those that are running the B44 Dampers on a DB01, how did you mount them to the stock suspension towers? Obviously the dampers don't fit the stock DB01 5mm balls, so what have people come up with?
Thanks |

I just screwed the appropriate length bolt straight into the tower from in front of the shock and it's been fine.

You need the AE plastic upper mount bushings. They are just like the 501X ones. Those will probably work too...
