Needing to get hold off some knuckle arms. Any one got any?

If not does anything else fit?

Neil

Was gonna reply on facebook but here now!

Do you mean the steering knuckles not the C-hubs?

I think they're the same as the Optima Mid ones, the Optima Mid Custom are plastic as are the ZX-R.

On page 166 of this thread Oosh modded some 3racing ones to fit:

I haven't trial fitted them but I am pretty sure Mid ones will work - James can maybe confirm?

The knuckles are the same as the Mid and original Optima, part number OT-16, and were still being used on their touring cars through the 90s. There was a running production change, the early ones are cast alloy and later ones are plastic, but both are interchangeable.

They are also remarkably similar to a lot of touring car knuckles.

They are also very very low compared to modern knuckles. From what remember the are 19mm . Modern knuckles are 21 or 22mm.
the ot16s tend to strip their threads too easily . thats why i made my own c hubs that will fit in standard 22mm zx5 hubs which will last much longer.
Ot16s are also very expensive now.

LA219 - 7 is what i found on google. Castor blocks dont work but a quick dremel to make both screw sections match in height and game on.

OT-16 became SD-032 after adding a second set of holes and is still used on the Spada

Sorry to go off topic but can we confirm that any mids came with plastic knuckles, I thought they all came with alloy knuckles?
I'm building a mid custom with alloy chassis and want to make sure I get it right

I'm pretty certain the Custom was the only one to come with plastic

All Mids have alloy knuckles, it was a production change with the release of the ZX-R and ZX-Sport. Everything earlier, which is all Optimas, Mids and the Lazer ZX have alloy knuckles, everything after have plastic.

I'm pretty sure that Optima Mid Custom came with plastic knuckles. At least some kits. We have had the discussion about different chassis on this model too so I'm not surprised.

The thing is that the plastic knuckles look like alloy (just a bit darker tone). Check out these plastic knuckles that came with my Optima Mid Custom:

If OT 16 Isnt available then LA219 is the easy alternative as several of us have done it, plus its a lot cheaper.

i use the 3racing ones aswell think it was .8mm to file off one of the king pin mounts (bottom one i think?) easy to do . they fit in the original c hubs when you have filed the said part.
