That thing appears to have a centrifugal clutch WTF???

Surely that'll make it drive all crappy, just like a nitro 1/8th

Direct drive is possible: their website says you can ditch their "Elektri-Clutch" system for a long boss pinion.

I think the centrifugal clutch is for Nitro guys coming to electric, rather than 1/10 electric guys going to 1/8 electric.

I think a slipper clutch would be of more use to get rid of some of the grunt the Neu motors produce

Thanks Dunc (I don't do reading, I like to look at pictures LOL)

Slipper would be very cool, I like that idea.

A QC battery might also be usefull for those 20 minute mains, although you may need some kid of industrial cooling, a heatsink in the shape of a Nitro head would be tres cool!

Plus they also run bump ups so you wouldn't have time to charge in between runs so your almost definately going to need 2 batterys.

Even if your potentially running for 35 minutes or more with just a few minutes break? They run that cool? The Mamba setup I used in 06 was thermalling after about 4 minutes, I guess technology has moved on quite a bit since then though hey.

The new Mamba Monster is a 1/8th electric specific speedo with a decent fan and heatsink built in, some guys have broken the fan and carried on using the speedo with out thermaling it.

I don't plan on using it on the limits it can do ie 6s, but then again

Has anyone had any dealings with RC Direct as I see on the Tekno RC website they are the distributors over here for the Tekno 1/8th conversions. I went on the RC Direct website but couldn't find the conversion listed.

I'll give them a ring but I was just wondering if anyone haad dealt with them before?

OldTimer, May I ask where you sourced your Mamba Monster & Neu motor from as I asked at my LHS and they couldn't find the Monster listed with their two Castle Creations suppliers. If it's politically unacceptable to post on here where that was could you please send me a pm, I tried searching on the net but couldn't find anyone listing it.

Frogger thanks for the info I'll give them a ring as the Tekno set up appeals as it retains the brakes.

The Neu 1509 was from Impakt RC which i believe is part of Tekno and i don't think there is a UK supplier for Neu, and the Monster is from RC Monster once the rev2 versions are released.

Trakpower now import the Mamba stuff so contact them, they will also be able to fix you up with suitable lipos.

They are curretly looking at providing a motor suitable for 8th electric.

I got my neu from eflight.ch - its in switzerland and the neu motors are made to order so there will be a lead time.. considered to be the best though..

Any questions PM me...

All this info and more will soon be in a review of a Hong Nor brushless conversion for oOple ..

A alternative to the Neu is a Medusa Products Afterburner V2, but Medusa and there UK agent Aurorra will not have any till at least August due to the sudden demand from 1/8 electric also the medusa is half the price of a Neu.

But it has been something i have been thinking about again during the last week, and now with Novak getting on board, its seems things are moving along nicely and becoming a little more mainstream.

So S8 anyone
