Is your pinion fitted to tight against your spur gear this can happen if you hit the rear hard enough to move your motor or have you got holes were your esc is for cooling??

Could you answer a couple of questions to help us answer this?
What pinion and spur are you running, what surface and how long is it before it gets hot?
It's worth checking nothing is binding on wheels driveshafts etc

Not with a 6100kv it isn't. The B4.1 comes with a 3300kv. I used a stock spur and 26 tooth pinion on that and did ok. With the 6100 you probably want a few less teeth.

Try going to an 18t pinion assuming the kit spur is an 81t
Make sure it's meshed correctly too

Hello . I had the same problem with 6100kv motor. If you used a standard esc on the RTR and upgraded the motor from 3300 it is possible the speed controller will not handle the motor. You could use a cooler specialy made for this esc from Associated and really go low with pinion size or as we did make an upgrade to another esc
