Default Getting to Norfolk Buggy Club

For those travelling to NBC this coming weekend for the regional championship the A47 will be closed around the Postwick Junction for bridge works as per http://www.norfolk.gov.uk/news/NCC163930

Weekend 2 (24-27 April)
North span beam lift and installation. Full closure of the A47 at 8pm Friday 24 April.
The crane will be set up and rigged on the eastbound carriageway with beam lifting commencing on Saturday morning, 25 April.
There will be significant delays on the westbound diversion route when the four pairs of beams are moved out of the compound down the westbound slip road on to the westbound carriageway. Each beam will take around 20 minutes to move into place for the crane lift.
Road to reopen no later than 6am Monday 27 April

As such anyone approaching from the West, A11, A140, A146 is recommended to leave the A47 (or remain on the A146) at the junction for A146 signposted Norwich, Lowestoft, Trowse and head round the outskirts of the city.

Just seen this, 22:00 Friday. So, if we are approaching from the A11, are we best to go through Norwich and along the Wroxham Road?
And if I now pull out now this late, as this could add an hour onto an already 2 hour journey, will I get a full refund?

Yes, from the A11 go over the A47 Thickthorn r/about into Norwich, round the ring road (clockwise) onto Wroxham Rd, at Rackheath turn right onto Muck Lane (signposted Salhouse Station), within 1/2mile track will be on the left, through a gap in the trees. I wouldn't think it'll take much longer than going round the A47 tbh.

This may help if you want to bypass Norwich towards Gt Yarmouth, showing a 5 r/about diversion off & back onto the A47:

At the time of morning you will be travelling it shouldn't add any extra time to your journey, and only a few minutes to homeward bound journey.

I have been told that the diversion sends you up and down the slip road where the works are taking place, so if your satnav does send you via the road closure you shouldn't experience any problems if you follow the diversion signs.

As Dan says the journey round the ring road of the city is also straight forward.
