Default Standard vs spool vs one way diff

Just been reading that people use different diffs in their cars, I'm just wondering what the benefits are of each one and how spool and one way work in comparison to a standard diff.

For Off Road forget the spool, it's only being used in touring cars.

Diff is your safest option, it will provide a car that is easy to drive, as well as more control in the air, and easier braking (4-wheels are all braking).

One ways free the front wheels up under braking, gives more turn in, but less air control and since only the rear wheels are braking, a less stable car under braking.

Only thing to add is that the best compromise for many is to run a one-way on the centre shaft and a front diff .... gives you the benefits of a 1-way and a diff together!!!

I can't drive a car with full time 4wd but don't like 1-way diffs ... an issue for us FS users as no centre one-way is available (yet )
