Default Workbenches/Tables

Hi Guys

Looking to move the racing gear and wrench room into the shed in the garden. I'm going to need a new workbench or something to put it in there.

What do you guys use/suggest?

Cheers

A good alarm too. Too many people have had their gear stolen from sheds.

I recycled an old wooden computer desk, lots of pigeon holes for bits and the pull out keyboard shelf holds the tool roll.. Came from a 2nd hand furniture store for £10..!! Just the right height with the wheels replaced for a couple of bits of 2x4(to stop it wheeling off into the distance when the wrenching gets rough!!!) I also hung a plug board n power cable for inside the shed which is Ty-rap'd to steel cable from the house wall...

+1 on the alarm though!

I built work benches in my shed with 2x2 frame and MDF sheets quite simple, not dirt cheep but not silly money, used 8x4 sheets, ripped down the middle with saw used them for the worktop and then up the wall behind them bit like a splash back, then a shelf above with florescent lights fitted underneath as you will always want good light

BUT I never leave the cars, radios etc out there as people have said sheds not secure and house insurance can be funny about £1000 of rc car stuff going missing out of what they class as a GARDEN shed I have cctv all around my property but even with this I never leave stuff out in the shed

When I was building my shed, I approached from a security aspect first.

When you think your good to go, step back and ask yourself how you would get in if you lost your keys. I was snookered without major damage and thats just about whats required with all your toys in there fella.

And check your insurance to see what level of cover you have in outbuildings, some are pretty crap.
