Default Newbie Meteor Owner

Hi all,

Many years ago, my first RC car was a Mardave Meteor with a Reedy motor and I remember thinking back then it was the best RC at ever!

Moving on many users I found a meteor for sale and purchased it with the intention of restoring it, but as with most things it got put on the back burner until now

Now a cobra and 2 meteors later I've just got around to getting the 1st one finished, with the last sticking points being wheels ( I know the question of alternative wheels has been asked numerous times) and the spur gear the owner told me needed replacing.

Has anyone ever seen a meteor gearbox like this? I was expecting plastic gears, not alloy? Any help or info would be greatly appreciated

Cheers
Barry

I'd say that you have something special there. I would imagine that is a one off!
Replacement plastic intermediate gears with ball races are available on ebay:
