Default 'THE HILLBILLYMOBILE' wooden rc truck

My First project in oople , this lorry is going to be designed (Made up as i go along) to handle a mix of on/off road Driving, and is being put together as cheaply as possible, meaning that ill be using a mix of scrap Wood and parts from different rc's that i have laying about.

The chassis is simply a pine plank cut to size, then the rear drivetrain and suspension is from a 'maverick' 4wd drift car, slightly dremelled and mounted to a plywood base, and mounted to the chassis with two short lengths of pine.

the front is made from a hodgepodge of spare rc10 rerelease suspension arms with rc10b4 uprights and steering hubs, mounted to a wooden bulkhead which is mounted to the chassis.

Thanks grovenik

the prototype cab was made of cardboard to help get right shape, the lorry will be made to look like an american 'cabover' lorry (like a wooden tamiya globliner)

The proper cab is made of ply panels attached to a wooden frame inside, the side panels were temporarily screwed so that i could cut them out as one with the jigsaw, stopping it from having a 'one side longer than the other' problem
panel pins were used to attach everything, with 'no more nails' put in as well to stop the pins from pulling out, until i ended up with something that looks like a lorry

THE HILLBILLYMOBILE LIVES!!!

i dont have a youtube account so cant upload video, but have uploaded a few pics
The motor system is a 17.5t speed passion, running off of a 5000mah 2s lipo, the motor is sensorless at the moment as it turns the wrong way when sensored and i can only reverse the motor direction if its sensorless, so it needs a push or lots of motor juddering to start moving.

when its moving the lorry handles surpringly well, it will lean over and go round coners on three wheels at speed, but as this causes the inside rear wheel to lift off the ground and 'diff out' (diff sending all power to wheel in the air NOT wheel on the ground),it rarely tips over completly.

offroad driving is really good, as the sheer mass of the wooden chassis+cab forces the suspension to really work over a bumpy feild, Meaning that the truck rides over rough terrain very smoothly and dosent get bounced about nearly as much as buggies do, however the 2wd and lots of weight at the front end mean that it can get bogged down and stuck on loose ground

PROGRESS
-the bodywork has been filled and sanded to hide the gaps/sticky out edges , and the edges of the cab have been rounded off to hide the joins and make it less boxy

-the electrics have been remounted inside the cab

-the body and chassis have both started to be painted

-i have updated the build thread on oOple
