Default 6 or more channels

hi guys may be a stupid question but can't find the answer online anywhere was wondering if you have a reciever with 6 or more channels can you use it with a 3 channel radio if on the same frequency and just leave the unused channels empty thanks guys

I believe not as 3 channel radio's are deemed as surface and 6 + radio's are for air use and although are both 2.4ghz they are coded differently.

At least this is the case with Futaba !

Yes you can use a six channel rx with a 3 channel transmitter normal rules apply if its 2.4 brands and protocol must match
six channel rx tend to be phsivcally larger
