Default Vega or Centro for my B4

Hi all

Thinking what to do with my B4 as it is just sitting at the min, I know I will have to change the outdrives and bearings to make the change over. But my question is as title

Centro or vega???????? and why did people who have changed to eather of the chassis make the choice between them.

I have driven a Kyosho vega, and it was nice....very nice, but unless I can find a second hand car the cost of buying a car and the conversion is a bit on the high side

Any ideas?

Oh also, I know the B4 vega is out any day soon, before someone posts

I have a second hand RB5 SP2 in the for sale section for £115!

Having tried the B4 Vega and the RB5, I went with the RB5 as it had all the team driver support and the one I drove was just awesome. (Matt Owens old car)

Never looked back since and would never sell it. (The one for sale is one I kept for spares, but they dont break!) I dont ever change set-ups and its good everywhere.. The two other lads I race with have both bought them too!

Expensive they are, but the amount I have saved in spares over my old cougar is mental... they are just so solid and the shocks are just awesome..

Never used the C4.1, but they seem to go very well, although they dont look very pretty with the shell off compared to the vega..

Have to echo the above comments on the strength of the RB5 Vega, they are just insane. I've been racing mine for about 4 months now, and haven't had a ball joint even pop off, let alone break something! They are bombproof, if I drove it into a wall I reckon the wall would fall down and the car would drive away!

I also have the RB5 Vega ant it is amazing. if you want to use the B4 then the Centro is the one for you as it was designed for the B4 in the first place the Vega was predominantly designed for the RB5 and was watered down/compromised for the Tamiya and B4 in my oppinion I've seen 3 bent Vega Chassis on the B4 as the front kick up plate part is alloy on the B4 where it is plastic on the RB5 and can all be Replaced if needed.

Just My 2p worth

Ahhhh, why does the RB5 one have to be the one, costs a bomb to make.

TBH as at this time of year the money tree is looking a little bare! the centro could be the best shot, I also see it can run stumpy lipos, a good thing as I have some, for the vega I would have to buy saddles

Thanks so far,keepem comming

Me and my son have the C4.1 and the Vega 4.1.
There both very good cars to drive,I would say that the C4.1 will have better backup in shops with spares

Yer, was starting to think that was the case with spairs after reading most of the threds in both vega and AE sections, I have spoken on the phone with team extream a couple of times, very helpfull, but there website stock numbers are very miss leading shall we say.

I have run a couple off rallyx cars before that have not been the best to get parts for and after a while it can get boring

Dwarf why would you'd need spares for vega?
They are not breakable . If not you'd will regret.
How do you know they lie?
All people that buyd vega love them lots
Yes sometimes don't answer the phone bud they are a single 1. Understand!?
Mine is the best car I ever own
It is rocking!
But not like the c4 when placed on straight edge
I think the vega is the best car complete
And everyone knows
Bud they have no € to pay premadonnas to big up their stuff
Like all the other inferior

Thank
Kees

By prima donnas I take it you mean the superstars that started with nothing, worked their way up the ladder of RC and undertake all the testing which makes the cars we currently use great for the rest of us? I bet it's not the amount of £ you're thinking!!!!

I know of one "prima donna" who used to drive a vega...

Bloke even expects other people to smoke his fags for him...

Seriously though, the vega doesn't need spares, just a rear tower. Everything else that could be damaged is Kyosho, and backup is superb.

You barely even need that, I read the threads about the rear shock towers having too many holes in them and being weak as a consequence. But touch wood, in 6 months of racing it the only thing I have had to replace was a bent shock mounting screw on the front shock tower. And I did that by somersaulting the car half the length of the straight at EPR.

As ridiculous as it may sound considering I love this car, mine may be up for sale before long...

As well as my Vega RB5 I also have a DEX210 and don't see the wisdom of keeping two 2wd cars. The 210 was partly a Christmas gift so I can hardly sell that, so if one has to go then it will likely be the Vega....
