Great event, run well too.

Can I use this post to criticise the track? The 4 stone lines / ripples, which have been placed on the left hander are aweful. I know the grass/soil there is very weak and it cuts up badly and those stones protect it, but instead it is rutting up after the stones and that corner is still horrible.

But the track has a heck of a lot which is right, and I love racing on it overall. The other new features are all excellent, and the new astroworks well.

you can use this thread to criticise if you have to....but you know me well enough to tell me instead of me having to read it

...but i digress - the ripples were an experiment to try to reduce the wear on that corner, and they are an experiment that failed. I am quite sure that section of track will see a lot of change prior to the national to get it just right, so don't fret - that area will be sorted out.

Glad you like the majority of the track though.

Hey Chris, sorry mate. What, with the drains I thought you may be pushed over the edge with any further critism. but don't get me wrong, im loving racing on the track

Did you get my emails in the week btw? I resent them from home... anyway im just being lazy now, I should have sent a PM or asked you earlier.

I had a word with you about the bit I didn't like Chris, other than that the track is great and is improving, all the new features were really good. I wasn't really too fussed about the paving Chris mentioned but it did cut the track up, looks like you already have plans for that tho which is good.

Well done to all involved

You did, and all input is welcomed - we will try to get everything spot-on. At the moment i think we are about 90% of the way there, but it will be 110% for the national!

The track was great today, the new line and profile over the middle tabletop/hump thingy is really good. I had a quick go on the new doubles after the final and they're really good too
I actually quite liked the ripples on the left hander there was a definite line over them that was fast, they were a little bit random at times, how about making them slightly smaller? If you want to stop the grass cutting up there you need to stop cars accelerating on it, the ripples probably made the problem worse as you go slower over them than if it were just a corner

I think they started off Lowe when I first saw them, then the grass around them got chewed a bit.. is that right CB?

That corner used to wear very heavily right on the apex, the ripples were to encourage people to coast the corner rather than previously where there was hard brakes and acceleration. The ripples have protected the corner, but moved the wear further up.

All the grass areas are going to need looking at.... one problem was the early easter weekend, which means we started racing before the grass had got back into growing season. So it was already pretty thin before we started. Normally when we open on easter weekend the grass has had a couple of weeks growing time and looks like a meadow!

glad everyone likes the features we all came up with

Glad to here people liked the doubles, spent a bit of time sweating them.

Think that bloke was brave shouting at me with a spade in my hand

That hole after the ripples was pretty big, surprised it didnt eat my car like they usually do.

Anyone with any other comments on the track drop me or Burgie a PM and we'll take it into consideration.

That and the ground under the grass is very light and sandy, means we chew it easy unfortunatley.
