Isn't the counterbore just the thickness of the spacer you place on the shaft?

Feel free to double check by all mean's but if you place the washer on the shaft and then measure it from the end to the washer face its 1.6 likewise if you measure the drop on the piston overall its 2.10 but theres the slight ring on the face which measures 0.5 again making the C/bore depth 1.6, I won't be offended if i'm proven wrong, it would obviously be better if someone double check's before production start's, measure twice cut once and all that jazz

Ah, so you actually mean that the counterbore is 0,9, i.e. the thickness (2,5), minus the exposed length of shaft (1,6).
I'll get the verniers on one tonight and get a double check done!

(and yeah, i think it is just the washer thickness and dia that makes up the counterbore. I'll have a look and see what the easiest way to do it is.)

Gixxer, is it possible to make a few up and get them to someone local to make sure fit is ok, rather than making me a load and shipping them over? (and finding they don't fit!!)

Maybe i should just buy my own lathe..... ;o)

What??? You were actually right the first time only 0.9 material left between the piston face and the C/Bore.

sorry, but no idea what you've been measuring, I've got 2,1mm left after the counter bore!

anyway, durango big bore
12.25 outer diameter
2.5 thickness
2.5 inner diameter
0.4 counter bore depth (the raised ring isn't needed)
just got to get the washer diameter for the counter bore size. And they are all inside me shocks.....
got a mate going to try and get another set of verniers on one.

Fine balls it up!!! what your classing as 2.5 dia i measured at 2.6 (both the piston and the step on the shaft) but it's not a through hole it's to a depth hense a counter bore! The through hole is 2mm I'm not on about nore ever have been on about the pointless raised ring! Jesus!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

calm down!
anyway, found the end stop/step you are talking about. not all my Pistons appear to have it. the ones in the car do. the two I measured don't.
And fwiw, it doesn't appear to be needed anyway, the washer and step on the shaft prevent movement in that direction. machining it will be a pain too!

Omg it's like a playground at a girls school lol.

Revised size H2 pistons are a very good fit. These seem pretty damn good

Blanks for any car are a quid each, I'll be doing more h2 pistons today as they have been tested for fit and are good

Just wondering what people's thoughts on aluminum pistons?
Mainly because its easier to hold a tight limit on and the cost would be no more than plastic

No worries, just wonder why i have 2 (and apparently only 2) without that end stop. I've got (total) about 20 pistons, mostly standard size, and ALL appear to have it, except 2. Which i'm pretty sure i haven't used. Ah well.
Thanks for sending one on to Gixxer, saves me sorting from this side of the North sea!
