Ye the ca is a 3 gear. The original yz2 was a 4.i found the 4 gear was easy er to drive on high grip.

So are we saying if you put a 3 gear on the original yz-2 it became a Carpet edition??

Not the only change, different arms and driveshafts, lightweight shell. Retrofitting a 3 gear to the original car is easily done though.

Not sure about that, but IIRC the CA also has the wider rear suspension, Yatabe springs and larger ball bearings in the bellcranks. The chassis is predrilled to accept the DT gearbox and has updated sideguards for the DT's more rearward battery position. Bottom line, the CA is a comprehensive update that is prepared to accept a DT rear end.
