Yes, the s2 looks very nice, and I guess it drives pretty good but is way too expensive for bashing.

2wd will be cheaper to buy, run and fix. Also there's less that can go wrong so they are more beginner friendly than a 4wd car would be. How much experience do you have, and how much equipment do you have now or are you starting from scratch? |

Im sorry Luke but the type of question you asked will always lead to many different opinions.
The fact is, all the cars are built for a purpose and all are capable of serving that purpose for what you want. Ofcause you will find the limits of the cheaper cars sooner, but again, each of them is upgradable. What I recommend is to buy a "Racer" magazine, and then attend your local club. Don't be afraid of asking the people there, and watch which cars are doing okay etc.. My recommendation for your purpose is a RC10B4- RTR. RTR stands for ready to Run, and it is just that. You may need to change the tyres to suit where you race it but you will always need to do that with any kit anyway. In time the RC10B4-RTR can be upgraded as you improve and it can then either be upgraded and left as an RC10B4, converted into the S2 or you can choose the best car which ofcause is the X-6 |

Thanks Ash. Don't get me wrong, the XXX-CR which you recommend is a great car, but for Luke to choose one he'd then have a servo, ESC, Motor, cells, transmitter & more to buy, and a novice may be put off by that potential minefield of purchases, but with an RTR its all included - he will just need a 12v to charge from and stuff for his own comforts such as toolbox, table & chair - but not essential for first meeting.

But he has said it's for polished floor. I'd be really wary of recommending a 2WD for that. It might be a recipe for getting very frustrated very quickly...

Yea but a 4wd will proberly be more fraustrating with hving to skim motors and repair it as a 4wd is much higher minternance.

Iv just ordered a 5.5 but id prefer to be using a 6.5 at TRCC, 5.5 is better for me outdoors though.

Its not just motor mainernance rebuild between most meetings to make sure the drive chain is runnign freely checking for worn cvd's also parts are generally more exspensive. I thought 4wd would be easy with brushless but it isnt.

Aero and B4 are my reccomendations while were just saying what cars we run
I think the pred is the one though, its AEROdynamically the fastest car ever made and is unrivalled in suspension travel |
