KO Receiver issues?

My KF408 receiver decided to loose its range at EPR during the finals on Sunday for no obvious reason.

Was fine in the heats and then wouldn't react to the tranny if more than a couple of meters away.. no obvious damage to the antenna wire and nothing had changed on the car.. (weather was bone dry)

Anyone had similar issues? Replaced with a spare and everything was ok, but cant see what could have caused it to fail...
