they looked to be bigger than the yokomo big bores so im guessing 14mm

Hows it a bodge? I simply don't understand your point?
Since when did the Yokomo big bores use the same spring and retainer? Do you actually have any or are you trying to prove a flawed point?

i dont get the bodge either.
Surely it would be cheaper to put longer ball studs on the wishbones and shock tower to get the clearance, rather than design a tapered spring? |

because the springs dont fit the car without being taperd as soon as you change spring diameters it changes the spring tension why cant they simply mould a stand off on the lower arm and use bigger spring retainer and have a true linier spring dony get me wrong im not slatting what they have done just a mere obviouse thought.

Don't get 'bodge' from the perspective that there's no 'bodge' to get? Or are you of a similar mind set?
Longer screws - ? The closer the shocks are to the wishbones / tower the better. Otherwise - you use the shocks as a bumper, you bend screws, you smash wishbone mounting holes. Using longer screws is a bodge if there ever was one - designing a tapered spring is a smart move, the opposite of a 'bodge' if you ask me.

there is no problem jimmy just an obsivation they do fit they say they work and work well and will probably inprove the car which is always good.

Ok, turn it around - why do all that instead of tapering the spring?
Seems like a clever idea to me and I can see absolutely no down sides at all!

theres more than just liner type spring,theres rising rate and progressive which all have uses and may be the taper is there for more than just your wild guess at missing the wishbone,
