The front gearbox didnt work with flanged bearings as the diff binded and wasnt any freedom hence why i redesigned the cf plates and based it around the zxs rear gearbox design as that worked better, however there was flex with the metal housing and due to that caused the screws to losen which was a headache to maintain as it took a lot of time. For display purposes its great but to run not great. However ive still got the bits and maybe i can this year after ive dealt with the rear gearbox come up with a simpler design using 3d printed as that way you can get it made from alloy as well.

I have to confess the main reason I want one in alloy is because I am a sucker for carbon fibre and blue anodised alloy.
Functionally nylon is probably better as you can have more of an interference fit with the bearings and the small amount of flex helps absorb vibrations plus the threads lock better

Ok hubs just arrived so will first see if the nut holes are correct, as ive a funny felling that the size isnt but will update when I get a chance to fit. Ok plastic versions are perfect but the alloy isnt so does need changing as the nuts dont fit.

I've dropped them off at a spring manufacture for them to get measure of weights for me , so should be ok.
Not sure if it would be of any interest to anyone but whilst looking for spring rates I stumbled on a company called extra speed who are now making replicas of the option house gold shocks for approx 25USD. Think they are for the 2016 optima so I'm guessing the fronts would be small size not medium for the zxr??? Last edited by rob m; 10-03-2017 at 04:49 PM. |

About £7, only issue ive got is you need to glue the slim nuts in first and possibly adding a thin layer of something on one of the flat sides to make a perfect fit so maybe a thick glue may be more preferred as the nuts do move and thats when youll get problems but other than that spot on and the weak points have been addressed and now think it will be fine.
