Airbrushing fluo colours advice
Hi All,
I'm looking for some advice on using fluorescent airbrush paints please. I'm very much a beginner so I don't always get the most even coverage. I know the fluo paints are designed to be somewhat transparent and it is backing with white that gives the final finish. I'm guessing I need to really work on practicing doing thin even coats of the fluo as backing with the white is really going to make any heavier/lighter areas very obvious! Any tips and hints will be much appreciated. Thanks in advance

use a piece of white paper held up against the (dry side of) the shell to help you gauge what it will look like when backed with white. Simple but effective

I use a hair dryer between coats, mist on the first couple of coats dry with heat then you can go a bit thicker with the paint. Try to get a mist rather than a load of wet dots, makes a better finish when you back with the white 👍

Thanks for the tips. I have had a bit of a play and managed to get some nice fine coverage, not as even as I would like though. I'll have to keep practicing...
I'm also finding it tricky to gauge when to stop building up layers of colour and start backing with white. It's having the guts to decide when there's enough on there to give a good finish, because obviously once the white is down there is no going back!
